From the Archives: spring ‘24 looks to recreate
It’s truly been so long since I’ve sat down and created a post about my personal style and I must say, the nostalgia is delicious ☺️. I was scouring pinterest for spring style inspiration when a thought occurred to me: why don’t I go through my own camera roll to see what I was wearing during spring last year? The result was a lovely trip down memory lane marked by the outfits that I lived in at that moment in time; a sweet and tender fashion time capsule, if you will.
In the spirit of Earth day and keeping our style sustainable, here are some past looks of mine that I will be re-wearing and recreating this spring.
Outfit 1: girly gorpcore
I’m saying this now so that you can hold me accountable: I will wear these sneaker ballerina flats more this season! They bring so much fun to this outfit. I also love how neutral this look is without being boring. I’d love to try this look again this year and add more jewelry—I’m thinking a stack of bangles and a sculptural statement necklace.
Outfit 2: cozy is key
I was obviously really feeling these green cargo pants last year and I have a feeling that they’ll be a staple again this seasom. I really like my use of accessories here: the scarf adds an interesting pattern and the yellow birks are the perfect pop of color. This outfit is perfect for a day in the park!
Outfit 3: easy breezy
These Paloma Wool linen pants found their way into my wardrobe over 5 years ago now and I find myself wearing them year after year! There’s something about the gorgeous bright green color. They unfortunately shrunk in the wash (as you can see from the way they barely go to my ankles 🥲) but I think they still work! I love the way they look with the lace-up sandals—very cool and a little eccentric, just like me!
Outfit 4:Classic denim
I wore this outfit when I visited New York last year and it felt perfect for the transitional weather. I love the fit of these jeans: perfectly slouchy trough the leg, mid-rise and fitted to the hip. I wear iterations of this outfit year-round and have no plans of stopping. A t-shirt, button down and jean combo is a tried and true classic.
Outfit 5: 90s movie Queen
I love love love this look; it might be my favorite from this post! I think the denim column skirt and the hat are the stars here: the hat is a vintage find that I got for my boyfriend. Don’t you love when giving a gift also benefits you? Another important aspect of this look are the silver accessories, particularly the big buckle on the belt and the silver necklace with its butter-amber pendant. Jewelry always ties a look together.
OUfit 6: A funky night out
This dress was a birthday gift from my mama and it is the perfect base for layering. I styled it with my sibling’s leather jacket (that they might never get back 🫢 ), a fuzzy bucket hat, some silver jewelry and patent leather boots. This look is perfect for a night out—it’s comfortable, cute and a little funky.
outfit 7: simple & Sheer
I don’t have a lot of sheer tops (this one was just a try-on😗) but I love the idea of using a sheer garment as an easy layering piece. I have a long lace dress that I could recreate this look with—I’ve been wanting to style a dress layered over and pair of trousers. Stay tuned for that look!
Outfit 8: color theory
I love all the colors I that pulled together with this look. The colors are complementary, making the outfit feel cohesive and harmonious. Matching my red purse to my red shoe laces was particularly satisfying. Sometimes it truly is the little things that matter most.
I hope this post gave you some ideas for your spring outfits or maybe inspired you to go through your own camera roll to find some looks of your own to recreate! I’d love to hear what your spring fashion vibe is this year—let me know in the comments below!
